I'm accustomed to using open sourced firmware (DD-WRT, Tomato, etc) for their reliability and flexibility.
I was pleased to find out upon use, how powerful D-Link's firmware is for this product.
It offers practically everything most enthusiast users would need except hardware VPN.

This thing is nice. I was running xxxx brand router with integrated wireless and it would just crap out. It was good, especially for the money but couldn't handle the load. That's when I decided to upgrade to this, running wireless with a D-Link Air Premier N Dual Band connected to it. Zero drops, zero power-cycling. Havn't tried the gamefuel yet, but so far my network is running pretty nice; even when dling at 2mbs, while playing online games.

Purchased this router to replace aging linksys router that could apparently only achieve a throughput of 7-8 Mb and with my 20 Mb service I was losing about 12 Mb of throughput. This router pairs well with my D-Link 8 port gigabit switch.
