3 out of 5 stars Not as impressive as I hoped   July 26, 2010
Jim Korein (Chappaqua, NY USA)
Saw only a small improvement in signal stregth over basic antennae for Verizon supplied Actiontec router. Noise what not a problem

4 out of 5 stars Mcbain   June 9, 2010
marcelo tilli (Miami, Florida United States)
The product works. I have a fairly big house with solid walls. I can get signal in places I wasn't able to get before. I doesn't get a 5 star because of the high frequency noise it emits. Wheter you will hear it or not, it'll depend of your hearing accurancy.

5 out of 5 stars It's A Miracle!   June 7, 2010
rgj21 (Washington, D.C.)
I have had nothing but problems with WiFi signal range in my house. It's a pretty big house, but not so big that I should have had dead spots and gaps in service. Couldn't work on my deck, couldn't work outdoors, kitchen was iffy. Problem was exacerbated when I switched to FIOS and received the Actiontec router. br / br /I have tried many different types of range extenders, boosters, antennas but nothing worked. I finally stumbled upon the Hawking HiGain Signal Booster. Hooked it up in about 30 seconds and BAM! Just works like a charm. I now have coverage everywhere. Works with Actiontec--a concern because not everything is compatible. Works for Mac and iPhone. br / br /My most frustrating technology problem has been solved thanks to Hawking. Buy it today!

5 out of 5 stars Hawking makes a great wifi amplifier   May 29, 2010
James R. Bryson (Guntown, MS)
I have used this amplifier in other applications previously and know the quality of the product. It provides variable signal amplification levels of 100mw, 200mw and 500mw. I have used one of these installed in an unheated shop for two years and haven't had a single problem in sending a signal to a high gain outside omnidictional antenna to provide internet service to multiple locations. Previous to buying this Hawking amplifier I bought a cheap "made in China" product that didn't last through installation. Better to pay a little more and get a quality product.

4 out of 5 stars Hawking HiGain Signal Booster   May 19, 2010
als (Kaneohe, HI)
The booster made a very loud high-pitch noise. I could hear it clearly when standing 10 feet away from it and four feet from a full-size refrigerator -- while the refrigerator was running! br / br /I initially contacted Hawking technical support but quickly realized that the technician had no idea what the product was. He made suggestions that would require circuit board level changes. He was obviously reading a technical troubleshooting manual and had no clue what the customer could adjust. Don't waste your time here. br / br /I then contacted customer service and, after a few email exchanges about the problem, they authorized a replacement. The replacement came reasonably quickly and it is MUCH quieter but still makes some noise (acceptable if you are not within three feet of it). br / br /There are two reasons that I did not give the product 5 stars. First, the noise generated by the first one and, second, the amount of signal boost is a bit disappointing. My receiver is about 50 feet from the antenna and the improvement only got me to three bars (from two). Sufficient for my needs but I would have expected a bit more...
