1 out of 5 stars All One-Star Ratings Are True For This Router D-Link   July 26, 2010
Robert Tan (Hackensack, NJ)
I had this router, dlink, bought in december 2009. I wrote this review only now (07/26/2010), hoping thar I may find a solution and have it shared but it went in vain. I don't want to re-type all the one-star ratings review. They're all true - had those problems - had it fixed - then back to those problems again. (Mainly looses connection). I have to blame myself for buying this unit for not heeding the large number of one-star review back then. I have now the impression (just decided) not to buy any d-link products anymore. I bought linksys (refurbished), which is cheaper ($34.00) and it worked far better than d-link. After installation, no "No Connection" problem ever experience again with linksys.

1 out of 5 stars D-Link = Dead Link   July 25, 2010
Gretchen M. Geyer (Orchard Beach, MD United States)
I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this router. My old reliable Belkin died during a power surge and I needed a new router fast. I have had this D-Link Dir 615 router for over a year now and it has been the bane of my existence. Although it works fine via Ethernet cable, as a wireless router it is a piece of junk. It drops the signal constantly and needs to be unplugged and plugged in again. It just gets worse and worse and worse to the point where my household is happy that somebody close by in the neighborhood just got a Linksys router and has not yet secured it, so we are riding free on his wireless connection for now. br / br /Apparently dropping the wireless connection is something all D-Link wireless routers have in common. I have found Web sites with variations of the name "D-Link Sucks." Don't waste your money unless you enjoy pulling your hair out. br / br /Also don't believe the comments that say just upgrade the firmware. I have upgraded the firmware and it doesn't help. br / br /Based on everything I've read all over the Web about D-Link routers, I'm at a loss as to how they stay in business or why they haven't been sued or something. Their products apparently universally stink.

1 out of 5 stars Connectivity Loss   July 25, 2010
Daniel
I had no problems with this router except for a loss in connectivity that I would experience regularly throughout the day. About every 5 minutes or so I would experience a loss of connectivity to the router from about 5 feet away from me during which time I would be disconnected from the internet and reconnected within a period of about 5 seconds. The firmware was up to date and I checked to make sure that it was not the modem or service that I am receiving through a series of tests determining that the fault lied with the D-Link router itself. I have since shipped the router back to Amazon.com and have purchased a new Netgear router for the same price as this router was; I have had no problems with the Netgear router whatsoever. The problem could very well have been defective hardware and may have been solved with a replacement D-Link router but I was unwilling to give a replacement D-Link a shot. br / br /In short, I would not recommend this router to anyone. The low price attracted me to it, however, I experienced problems that I have never had with any other router and which technical support was unable to help me fix. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with this router, I have heard similar stories others have told after the fact and I would not make this purchase again myself.

1 out of 5 stars A Nightmare of a Router...   July 22, 2010
Frustrated Customer
I couldn't have purchased a worse router if I had tried. After attempting to set up my router and being unable to connect to the internet, I chose to call D-Link for support. I was immediately handed off to a difficult to understand gentleman who casually told me that I had an IP address conflict with my modem. Once things were finally working, I started noticing that the router would kick me off the internet every 5-10 minutes for no reason! After calling D-Link for support on 4 separate occasions, I finally was told that my router was defective, but I had passed my router's 30 day warranty (by 2 days!) and they could not help me further. I will never purchase another D-Link router again. To save yourself the trouble of spending hours on the phone with terrible tech support, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Product arrived as advertised, excellent product, I have placed it out of the way on the wall. Tech support is unknown as I have not had to use it.
