As others have indicated, there seems to an issue with the Slingbox Solo. My Slingbox solo worked great for almost exactly one year. I even dropped another $30 on the iPhone app. Then a couple weeks ago the Slingbox simply refused to connect to the network and, in spite of following all of Sling Media's suggestions, the problem has persisted. Very recently Sling Media has announced a convoluted process for replacing SOME out-of-warranty Slingbox Solos (do a search on "Slingbox SOLO: Streaming stops unexpectedly" or "Sling Media Now Replacing Slingbox Solos Out of Warranty". My suggestion - if you are going to buy a Solo, definitely buy SquareTrade's 3-year warranty as well.

Easy installation, works fine. Video quality, of course, is only reasonable but better than I expected. All else is perfect. I am very satisfied with the product and recommend it.

The product does not come with a TV/Cable tuner like the previous version (Slingbox Classic). Must purchase the HD version to get the tuner.

This product is awesome. It works extremely well. It allows me to watch my DirecTV DVR located in my bedroom while I am away via the Internet, in my office on my PC, using my laptop over WiFi, and it works well on my iPhone (even over the 3g network). On the iPhone I mostly use it for CNN. (oh my eyes) :) It was easy to setup BUT it does not come with any software. You have to download it from the manufacturer's website. I could see someone with little PC experience or non-technical savvy person having problems setting this up and getting it working. Not because of the product, but because they don't understand how the technology works. Like firewall setup, IP address stuff and so on. br / br /My outbound speed is 2Mb so video and sound are pretty good remotely. My only regret is I wish I found this product a long time ago! :) I love this product and highly recommend it!

My slingbox has just failed after just over a year and a half of use ... br / br /I was quite disappointed to find that many other slingbox users are experiencing the same issue: br / br /Error: 0x923400dc br /Context: 0 br /Operation:3 br / br /So it was great while it lasted - but expensive ($150) for the amount of time that it lasted. br / br /Looking at the other reviews here (and elsewhere on the internet) I am reluctant to buy another slingbox. I now feel that it is an overpriced niche product that is prone to failure. I would happily try an alternative product but have yet to find anything else that will do the job ...
