As an ISP and engineer, I can say with authority: Do NOT buy this router. It is fundamentally defective. July 12, 2010 L. B. Glass 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am an Electrical Engineer and operate a small Internet service provider. Before we encountered this model we were a very loyal reseller of Linksys products, but this model made us reconsider.
br /
br /We bought a case of these routers to sell to customers, and it was a large amount of money wasted. Every single one has been a lemon. Not one customer has been satisfied with their performance. Web page loads are interrupted. Video locks up. The range is terrible (the signal doesn't go half as far as that of one of Linksys' own WRT54G2 routers). And it uses an oddball chipset, made by Ralink; most of Linksys' products use silicon from Broadcom. This means that it's not supported by third party firmware -- such as Tomato Linux, OpenWRT, or DD-WRT -- that might work around the problems. We accepted them all back from our customers, lest they harm our reputation, and took a bath on them financially. They're good as nothing but doorstops.
br /
br /Our research reveals that Linksys dropped this product unusually quickly after it was introduced, and hasn't bothered to release a firmware upgrade for it since 2009. It's a dog. Don't go near it.
br /
br /P.S. -- If anyone out there is an attorney and wants to do a class action suit regarding this defective product, I'm in.

Unreliable connections... I have a Wii that is linked wirelessly to this router, and every few days I have to power cycle the router to sync with the Wii again... If I were buying a router, I would choose a different one based on these issues.
Dropped connections, port forwarding and firmware issues June 24, 2010 knpnj (NJ, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As other highly capable tech engineers have posted here, please believe them and stay away from this model.
br /I have a similar background with over 20yrs of experience managing environemnts that exceed 100,000 users and I am seeing that brand Linksys is slipping up in quality and service over the past couple years.
br /
br /In our case, the WRT110 is installed in a small biz environment and here are particular issues that we could not live with -
br /1. As soon as any wireless user visits and connects, all wired computers get kicked off.
br /2. Incoming port 443 does not get forwarded into the internal network.
br /3. Firmware issues with uccessive version.
br /
br /Check Linksys forums before deciding if this model is good for your home use. Not at all recommended for business environments.
br /Not all users face the same problems, but a large number of people seem to have one issue or another, so it might be a good idea to just stay away.
nice design but RUN AWAY!!!! June 4, 2010 Bruce Morgan (lebanon,OR USA) works 60% at most will work fine then just cut out
br /makes me so mad , it used to work fine for my psp , but now its so stupid works only when it wants to

br /LAME!!!!
Firmware is the main problem May 1, 2010 P. Murali Without the recent firmware update this router wasted my entire day. It kept disconnecting from the internet constantly when more than one person joins the network. Only after updating the firmware did it start working.
