Great idea, didn't work for me. July 25, 2010 Donn L. Lee While the idea of this WiFi device sounds good, in practice it didn't work for me. After 4, hour plus calls to India, a joint decision was made to return the device. While I can't be positive the problem was not just a poor internet signal with the air card, the fact is it never responded to any of the tech support techniques, so I believe I just got a defective device. I returned for credit and will try for a different solution to my problem. All my other equipment is from Netgear and they work fine.
Netgear 3G Mobil Band Router July 23, 2010 jwlambeth This Product was shipped as promised; Arrived ontime, and in pristine condition. A novice may have a small amount of trouble understanding the lack of instructions, but most people would have no problem in getting the netgear to operate with the supplied wiring. Once the wiring was attached properly the instruction and install wizard lead through the setup even on how to protect the signal from piracy.
Don't Buy This July 19, 2010 JRW The idea of this product is a great one! However, after 4+ hours on the phone with Netgear and ATT - I am returning it. For starters, Netgear informed me that the product I got from Amazon was over 18 months old and therefore out of warranty. They offered a ONE TIME ONLY service ticket - but that any future calls would be charged. In the end, because the product was old (even with a firmware upgrade) it can not be made to work with the new ATT aircards. If you have an old aircard (more than 2 years old) I would guess it would work. But beware. Netgear says a user name and password from ATT are required. ATT says there are no passwords. Buyer beware on this one. Many people have had great luck and I am sure Netgear has a product that will work for me - but this isn't it!
Check compatibility!!! May 27, 2010 Dana Tennyson (Dallas, Texas United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was given a recommendation for this router to go w/ my ATT aircard. Turns out it's not compatible with the Sierra USBConnect Lightning so I have to return it. I called NG Tech Support they weren't nice at all. I thought NetGear was a good company. Why don't they have compatibility with more cellular modems?
Expected more out of Netgear! May 12, 2010 D. Mccauley (COLLEYVILLE, TX, US) Being a constant traveler I was looking for a 3G mobile broadband that will have me connected to the internet anytime. And I was particularly looking for a faster connecting one. Since I already have a Netgear Mobile Broadband it was recommended that I opt for the wireless router of the same brand. In came my new MBR624GU. Raring to connect to the internet using this device I plugged in the 3G USB card directly into the device. Happy that it worked in the first try!

br /Though the price is very affordable, my MBR624GU does have some limitations. Sadly, it uses an 802.11g wireless, which is archaic these days. The first time I used it, I was in the heart of the city and was able to connect faster. When used from a remote location, the connectivity was not very satisfactory. Was so bad that video streaming was not possible due to this. Have heard that this router would support about 64 users at a single go but believe me it is a complete mess when more than 15 users use it at the same time!
