Painless Networking @ decent speeds July 27, 2010 Choochim Out of the box , up and running within 5 minutes of receiving the package! Already have a Netgear wireless G router, so did not need any tinkering at all. Works as advertised ! However, watch to make sure that you are plugging the Powerline adapter into an available wall socket and not into a power strip for quicker setup.

br /Recommended for places within the dwelling where wireless coverage does not reach properly.
Just plain works July 13, 2010 Simon Cohn (Lebanon, NJ) Plugged it in and I was up and running in under 10 minutes. I love it when a product works. This is going from SW corner of the second floor to the SE corner of the first floor where wireless worked, but not fast enough to stream Netflix on my Samsung HDTV. After hooking up this box, I now have that TV + a streaming BD player both working perfectly. My house is 8 years old, and this is going to two separate circuits in my house. No issues, and I love it when something just works. 5 stars all around.
No More Wireless Hassels July 3, 2010 Guardsix 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I needed something to get my blu-Ray player and my DirecTV DVR on the home network. Wireless was an option but just not fast enough or stable.
br /
br /In comes Netgears Home Theatre kit. I had already tried two of their powerline devices getting a stable and complaint free connection to my Wife's kitchen computer so I kind of knew this would work.
br /
br /And did it work beautifully! I took the four port adapter from the box, hooked two cat5e cables between my blu-Ray player and one to my DVR and plugged the box into a wall outlet...presto! I have both devices on my home network. I took the other single powerline plug and stuck it in an electric socket behind my recliner, hooked a cat5e cable between it and my laptop and again, I'm on the home network.
br /
br /Now I can download movies on demand to my DVR, watch BD-Live stuff from my blu-Ray player and surf the net on my laptop with a great, fast connection. No software involved!
br /
br /If you want something other than wireless throughout your home, this is the way to go. Easy, quick and trouble free. Buy it!
Bang! It Works. June 28, 2010 Steplander (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I installed a new HD TV and Blue Ray player in the living room and was not looking forward to fishing the internet cables from the lower floor through the walls and floors just so I could take advantage of the internet content available on both new units. Then a friend suggested this unit.
br /I was hesitant because the idea didn't seem simple. Running the internet through the power line? That's gonna be easy?
br /It was a snap!
br /Plug the main unit into the router downstairs and into the wall. Plug the second unit into the wall near the entertainment system upstairs and then two LAN cables into the BR player and TV.
br /Bang! 'Worked in a few seconds. Great connection and the setup could not have been easier.
br /Now, the final concern was speed. No worries:
br /I connected to Netflix and streamed HD content in seconds without a pop. No delay in transmission. No buffering and waiting for the movie to load. It just worked!
br /(Honestly, I'm not used to that. Usually I find nothing works like it's advertised to these days so I don't expect results like this.)
br /If you need a connection and don't want to fish lines all over the house, this is he ticket for you.

It just works June 21, 2010 J. Liston (Portland, OR USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had the Netgear Home Theater Internet Connection kit now for a month or so, and I LOVE it! Connection speed is consistent and fast, set up was incredibly easy. I wish I had more components to connect it to!
br /
br /I'm surprised more people don't know about this technology, as it is simpler to use than wireless, with more consistent speeds. I haven't replaced my wireless with this, but it is fantastic to use in areas of the house where the signal is weak, or to maintain a consistent download speed.
