I'd buy it again September 7, 2010 Vikki Harris (NC) We bought this router on the advice of a techie friend. It was EXTREMELY easy to set up (Windows Vista). We can run two laptops off it with no effect on speed. The price is right, too. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is that we only get 2 bars in the bedroom, and our house isn't that big. But even on 2 bars the speed we're accustomed to is there.
Cisco E2000 wireless router September 1, 2010 J. Boscan (Caracas, Venezuela) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So far router is working fine (after 3 weeks), I bought it to replace a 2 year old apple airport extreme that was having problems (dopping connection every few minutes). Easy setup but with lots of options for advance users. It is much smaller and lighter than apple's router and it does not need and extra base if you want to install in on a wall or roof. also, Cisco router runs much cooler that apple's, apple's generates a lot of heat.
OK after you disable the guest access September 1, 2010 Will 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This router seems decent enough. Just a warning, I would recommend disabling the guest wireless access. It creates an additional network with "-guest" added to the network name. Guests use this network, along with the a web page and password you configure. Cool! ... I like that. They keep away from my printers and internal network stuff.
Problem is it slows down the main network. I did not figure this out until I had my ISP tell me my router was SLOW. I tried disabling that service and it was looking much better. I'm still considering swapping it out for a faster one since I've only had it a few weeks, but it did almost 4x my upload speed and double my download speed (ISP speed that is). Keep in mind my internal network should be operating at the same speed. (at least 56-144 MBS wireless, 1 GB wired). However, I guess problem has less to do with the broadcast speed ... more with the internal router processing. The switch in the router seems to have some logic that is much faster when you turn the second network off.
Just turn it off. Trust me. ;)
... Or just use a web site that allows you to test your download speed and do your own little tests.
Enjoy!

Easy set up. After realizing my old Linksys Wireless "G" Broadband Router was too "old" to run streaming video, I researched and purchased the CISCO E2000 which my "old" 50" DLP tv was able to play video from Netflix, UTube, etc. Set up was easy enough once I followed the simple instructions. After several weeks of use, I have found nothing to make my unsatisfied with this excellent product.
